I'm trying to disable all guest time synchronization. Per the relevant documenation I've added the folowing keys to my .vmx file : tools.syncTime = "FALSE"time.synchronize.continue = "FALSE"time.synchronize.restore = "FALSE"time.synchronize.resume.disk = "FALSE"time.synchronize.shrink = "FALSE"time.synchronize.tools.startup = "FALSE" Time sync via NTP in the guest OS is also disabled.

Hello everybody,
I'm using a VMware ServerVersion 2.0.2 Build 203138 installed on a Centos 5.5. The hardware is an old HP ML380 64-bit.
I would like to have a network configuration with two NICs, one for administrating the Host OS itself, the other for VM machines.
The second nic is configured on a Cisco 2950 in trunk mode and the VMware server bridges this to VMNet2.
As VM Guest OS I'm trying to use a Juniper JunOS simulator (Olive).
The problem is that it seems that frames inside the Guest OS are not tagged.

I've created a 2 VM's a W2K8-64 R2 and a WXP-Prof-SP3 on my VM Worstation 7. They are running fine. Now I've tried to move this 2 VM's to our VM Server 2.0.2 where I've more memory than on my lapop and to put them into the inventory. The WXP-Prof-SP3 was no problem, and works, but the W2K8-64 R2 starts, then I get thrown out of the browser window with an error message: The server could not complete a request (http 12029) . After this I've to restart the VMWare host agent!?
Host system is also a W2K8-64 R2 with 4 CPU's and 24 GB of memory.

Hello all,
New to the forum. Couldn't find any posts on the below but please forgive me if it has been discussed.
We are using the backup software Arcserve to backup to tape, and daily it is having an issue with two vmware server 2 files. A typical error is below.
I know that this could likely be more an Arcserve issue than VMWare but their support has been less than helpful and I thought it may be a known issue for vmware users.
I wonder if there is any settings to be done in VMWARE to make it more friendly with backup software?

Hi @ All,
How many vm´s can run on vSphere Standard Edition. Somebody told me, i can only run 4 virtual machines with this licence.
Now i´ve running 5 vm´s on my ESX Server Standard Edition and its working. do i get a licence problem with more than 4 vm´s on vSphere Standard?
